Abstract
In order for electronic companies to compete in the global market place, electronic products must meet both product safety and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements. For many large companies, each discipline has a dedicated engineer, typically working independently of each other; whereas, for smaller companies, one engineer must do the work of both. The authors have sought to combine product safety and EMC testing requirements in analyzing an a.c. filter. The aim is to show that product safety and EMC requirements can be considered simultaneously, and not independent of each other
