Abstract :
A comparison is made between currently used propagation models for the prediction of path losses at UHF frequencies and GTD based models. Conventional models can be classified as empirical, theoretical and semi-theoretical. Given the need for higher prediction accuracies the suitability of GTD based models is being evaluated by several research groups amend the world. In the present paper a signal level prediction study using a GTD 2D model implementation is presented and its advantages and shortcomings over traditional models are analyzed
