Abstract :
This paper describes the development of a new control method for paper finishing machines, by means of which it is possible to reduce roll damage and to carry out the roll transfer movements more rapidly and accurately than with the methods presented previously. The control method includes winding arms control based on the dynamic model of the paper winder were developed and tested. Control algorithms specific to degrees of freedom are developed for the motion control of the hydraulic cylinders moving the winding arms. The functioning of the control method thus developed is verified with testing equipment containing the functions of a center winder. The verification involves the implementation of the control method in the testing equipment, test runs in a cycle corresponding to paper winding and the measurement of the accuracy of winding arm motion control achieved with this method
