Abstract
This paper presents an analysis and detailed study on the impact of the inclusion of distributed generation (DG) in MT distribution system to mitigate the effects of voltage sags and associated events such as unbalance and overvoltage in sensitive equipment of the users due to a single phase fault. Modeling in ATP / EMTP of a real system in its different load states and changes in indicators of GD has concluded that the presence of distributed generation is beneficial, attenuating the effects of voltage sags during faults in the sensitive equipment and therefore can be considered as a solution and a basic alternative in electrical systems.
