Abstract :
In order to study the geochemical characteristics and medical values of geothermal water in Xi´an, 78 water samples were collected and analyzed. Results show the main factor affecting the chemical composition of geothermal water in Xi´an is the depth of the geothermal reservoir. The temperature, TDS and the concentration of SiO2 of geothermal water generally increase with the depth of geothermal reservoir. Because geothermal waters in Xi´an have high concentrations of trace elements F, Br, I, Rn, Li, Ba, Mn, H2SiO3 and H2S, thus, they are good mineral water and of high medical value. But some harmful constituents exceed the limits of drinking water standards, which can cause the pollution of water and soil. So we should be careful of the environment when developing the geothermal resources in Xi´an.
