Abstract :
The advantages of microwave assisted synthesis over thermal method are enhanced reaction rates, less or no formation of side products short reaction time, higher yields of pure products and reaction can be carried on a preparative scale in open vessels. Thus we introduce here with an efficient, rapid reaction, with atom economy follows an ecofriendly protocol, a concept of ldquoGreen Chemistryrdquo. Organotitanium complexes were synthesized by irradiating the reaction mixture of bis(cyclopentadienyl)titanium dichloride and (5-nitro-1H-indol-2,3dione thiosemicarbazone and 5-chloro-1H-indol-2,3dione thiosemicarbazone) in presence of triethyl amine in 1:1 or 1:2 molar ratios in tetrahydrofuran. All the new derivatives have been characterized by the elemental analyses, molecular weight determinations, conductance measurements, spectroscopic studies and their electrochemical behaviour. A pentacoordinated geometry for 1:1 complexes and hexacoordinated geometry for 1:2 complexes have been proposed. These complexes were also screened for antimicrobial activity. The results are indeed positive and findings will be presented in this paper.
