Abstract :
Real and imaginary parts of dielectric constant of soil of Alwar at different moist states under field conditions are determined at single microwave frequency 9.78 GHz using wave guide cell method. Dielectric parameters of soil related with various moisture retention states under field conditions like moisture less (dry), hygroscopic level, permanent wilting point, field capacity, transition moisture and saturated level for known textured (clay=14%, sand=52%) moist soil samples has been calculated using different model equations. Moistened samples correspond to different moist states are prepared artificially. Further in view of passive microwave remote sensing horizontal emissivity has been calculated in normal direction for each sample at different moist conditions.
