Abstract :
Summary form only given. Design and characterization of antennas at various frequency bands, is one of the main activities of SAMEER. Thus, developmental work on antennas are carried out at all the three centers of SAMEER, which are located at Mumbai, Chenai and Kolkata. Different types of antennas for various sponsored and core R&D projects have been developed for the frequency range starting from HF to millimeter wave frequency. All kinds of antennas, such as wire (element as well as array), slotted antenna array, horn antennas (both standard as well as ridge), helical antennas (normal, axial and printed), loop antennas, blade and air borne antennas, conformal (microstrip and suspended) antennas, reflector antennas, etc have been developed. Keeping in tune with the fast growing technology, most recent types such as; UWB antennas, Fractal antennas, reflect-array antennas, space fed antennas, active antennas, reconfigurable antennas, frequency selective surface, etc have also been designed and developed. All these work on antennas will be covered in the invited talk.
