Research on Calculation of Oil Residues Produced and Discharged by Vessels Sailing in Jiangsu Coastal Areas

Based on statistical data taken from sample selected ships navigating and operating within Jiangsu coastal sea area, this paper develops the methods of calculating the volume of oil residue produced and discharged by those ships under international standard and/or non-standard, in the comparison of fuel oil consumed by them. The calculation way is supported by 5 formulas and referred to relevant weighted average modulus, which are resulted from analyzing on the data and concerning any element involved in ship´s operation.
