Abstract
We present the first implementation of a MIMO envelope detection system. Such systems have so far been theoretically studied in the framework of nonlinear MIMO. The design considered employs an envelope detector on each receive antenna. The simplicity of the receiver enables extreme low-cost low-power implementations, making such systems attractive for wireless sensor networks and alike applications. The test bed presented here is a first implementation of such a system and demonstrates detection of spatially-multiplexed data streams using envelope detectors.
