Abstract
A method of determining the sensor state in a multisensor system is introduced. The method provides a quantitative judgment of the sensor reliability. It is an adaptive method that uses homogeneous and diverse redundancies. The criterion is the change of the correlation of two or more sensors. It is assumed that the sensor has a linear dependency so that a linear model of the sensor can be used. This model would make a cross comparison for every pair of sensors and find three parameters. These are specific for every sensor. By analyzing these parameters the sensor state and its fault condition can be determined. The application of the method is demonstrated
