Abstract :
Differentiated services (DiffServ) framework defines expedited forwarding (EF) behavior for high quality services which tries to provide leased line-like service for aggregates of flows. The most popular scheduler used to service EF queue is strict priority queuing (PQ). PQ is simple and fast but can generate long bursts in the core of the network. So far some schedulers like DRR++ M. H. MacGregor et al. (2000) are introduced to overcome PQ problems. We introduce a new algorithm to reduce burst length within the configured timing constraint and compare it with the other methods.
