Abstract :
GTE Telecommunication Services Inc. (GTE TSI) has developed an innovative platform that provides cellular carriers with the ability to deploy IN based services without costly upgrades to their non-IN mobile switches. Unlike other similar offerings, this platform can be deployed and provisioned entirely by the cellular carrier with minimal involvement of the local exchange carrier (LEC). The product, IntelliBase Enhanced Services, has an open architecture and will provide the carriers with the flexibility to either deploy GTE TSI developed services, or, build their own services using a third party IN capable service control point (SCP). Currently, GTE TSI is field trialing Spoken Caller Identification, Selective Call Delivery and Who´s Calling Me? services on this platform. These services are to be followed by Personal Telephone Number and Personal Call Delivery services. GTE TSI will offer this platform as a turnkey solution as well as operate it as a service bureau. This paper details the architecture of the product and its applications in the cellular environment
