Abstract
In order to remove sulfide from petroleum refinery, An packed bed bioreactor was constructed by immobilizing Thiobacillus ferrooxidans (T. f) on polyurethane foam HG-12 as carrier. Under the optimum condition of the immobilization bioreactor: air flow rate 200 L/h, 30degC and pH 2.0, a maximum Fe2+ oxidation of 7.21g/L.h was attained. And the complex compound forming on the surface of the carrier in the operation of bioreactor was identified as jarosite by X-ray diffraction analysis. In the packed bed bioreactor, the removal of sulfide was higher than 99.47%.
