  • Abstract
Recent advances in the field of photonic integration have made compact, small form factor, robust realizations of tunable transmitter arrays a reality. In this paper, we studied different chip architectures to best fulfill the requirements of avionic deployment. An optimal number of widely tunable transmitters to be integrated on a single chip is 4. Total power consumption presents a challenge, as uncooled operation of DWDM components is unlikely.
