Abstract
We describe results of a program to improve several aspects of magnetron injection guns (MIG) for gyrotrons and gyroklystrons. Subjects to be discussed include causes of, and methods for reduction of, cathode emission non-uniformity from temperature and work function variations, and the design of an "inverted" MIG for coaxial gyro devices.
