Abstract
Cableready television sets are a three win situation: First, the consumer wins because features purchased with the television are not diminished by the presence of a cable converter; secondly, the cable operator wins because capital and operating maintenance costs are eliminated by not having to provide a converter; thirdly, the television manufacturer wins because more high end full feature television sets will be purchased. To be truly cableready, some rather stringent cable requirements must be met. Until those requirements are met, cableready television sets will remain a myth.<>
