Abstract :
Summary form only given, as follows. Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) is examined as an intrinsic standard for the calibration of instruments used in the measurement of magnetic field strength. The suitability and limitations of NMR as a laboratory´s primary magnetic standard are discussed. The requirements imposed on magnetic field homogeneity and radio frequency measurements are presented. A hierarchical set of standards is presented that meets most of the needs posed by a general calibration facility.<>
