Abstract :
Attempts were made in this study to examine the efficiency of Fenton process for treatment of wastewater generated from the production of papermaking tobacco sheet. Parameters affecting the Fenton process, such as initial pH, dosages of Fenton reagents and agitating time were investigated and optimized using jar-test experiments. 95.0% of color, 94.2% of turbidity and 78.9% of chemical oxygen demand (COD) could be removed at pH 4, 366 mg/l H2O2, 750 mg/l FeSO4. This study might offer an effective way for wastewater treatment of papermaking process tobacco sheet manufacturer to meet the more and more stringent discharge demands, especially for decolorization of this kind of wastewater.
