Title :
The Robot As Art: Novelty Or Nuance?
Author_Institution :
University of Southern California
Abstract :
Industrial robots have been programmed to move in a graceful and fluid fashion. The impact of the human-like form of machine motion on society will be discussed in this paper through a look at the artist´s perception and the audience response to the art of robot choreography. An examination of the choreography of robots as a form of art may be found to influence society´s image of working robots and may change the image of robots themselves.
