Abstract :
A description is given of the flashover characteristics (U50%) of seven typical objects over a range of atmospheric conditions. It was found that the influence of humidity on flashover voltage is different at different altitudes, when compared with respect to the IEC humidity correction factor K and China standard GB311-83. The corrected value in the geographic region studied is higher than the recommended value. The humidity correction factor suitable to the local natural atmospheric condition is given
