  • Abstract
    Based on stations´ mobility and wireless channel characteristics, the physical rate based admission control (PRBAC) is developed to increase the efficiency for HCCA in 802.11e. However, PRBAC may cause high packet drop rate due to tight transmission opportunity (TXOP) duration. This packet retransmission may hinder QoS data from transmitting packets within delay bound. In this paper, SNR based admission control for HCCA is proposed which takes account of expected successful packet transmission duration including retransmission time. Simulation results show that proposed schemes guarantee QoS at the expense of the number of admitted stations irrespective of channel condition.
