Abstract :
There is much contemporary interest in the design of information systems, and other systems, that support organizational development. These are often called enterprise support systems. In this paper, we elaborate upon some of the many needs in enterprise support that necessarily involve human cognitive issues. We discuss these issues, and how they are strongly influenced by organizational cultures. We also relate these to the catalysts for change in organizations and suggest several major interrelated efforts that comprise a systems approach to quality enhancement for organizational change and redevelopment
