Abstract
EM Fields have adverse effects on Human health. Tissue damage could occur due to the body inability to cope with the excessive heat that could be generated during the exposure to Radio Frequency. The parameters of concern with respect to human health are the rate at which a person absorbs electromagnetic energy, called the specific absorption rate (SAR). Electric field intensities from wireless LAN were measured at IIUM Campus. Using a developed flat phantom model, electric field and SAR variations for human organs are simulated and presented in this paper. The peak SAR values are compared with recommended values.
