Abstract :
In this paper we present performance results of a Gigabit-Passive Optical Network (G-PON) for different alternatives of implementation with data bit rates of 1.25, 2.5 and 10 Gbps in the downlink. The presented results allow to determine the kind of transmitter and receiver to use affecting the implementation cost of the access network.
