Abstract
SPICE-compatible methods of investigating unstable interactions in buck-derived bus regulator systems are discussed. These methods illustrate the trade-offs between current-mode and duty-ratio-mode bus regulators. Two loop closure sequences for assessing system stability, one for voltage-mode and the other for current-mode control, are presented. Reduced-order modeling for paralleled buck-derived channels is justified, and it is shown how a spreadsheet extends the results to higher frequencies
