Abstract :
A new dynamic biasing scheme for cascode transistors is introduced. It is applied to extend the input range of current mirrors and telescopic op-amps. The implementation of the proposed technique requires minimum additional circuitry and negligible power consumption and it does not increase the voltage requirements of the circuits. It is shown that besides extended signal range, improved gain accuracy is also achieved. Experimental results of a fabricated test chip in 0.5mum CMOS technology are presented that verify the proposed technique
