Abstract :
Automatic gain control (AGC) is an important way to expand input dynamic range and improve sensitivity of radar receiver. Digital automatic gain control (DAGC) is widely used in large dynamic range & high sensitivity radar digital receiver. In this paper, we propose a DAGC algorithm for radar digital receiver, and analyze the property of algorithm. Next, a simplified implementation of the algorithm is developed and simulated. Simulation results show that the designed DAGC algorithm can rapidly adjust gain to satisfy the needs of gain control in large dynamic range & high sensitivity radar digital receiver.
