Abstract :
The Software Engineering community has produced plenty of recipes on how to build software systems. Through the decades we have seen a shift from the more structured and organized to the most flexible approaches, lately with emphasis on speed. Although these methods in principle apply to all software, in being generic they may not address specific needs of some areas where systems have special features and demands. We argue in this paper that Intelligent Environments is one such area to be considered and in need of a tailored software development process. We introduce a new software development process and explain how is to be applied in systems of the Intelligent Environments field.
