Abstract
In this paper, the construction and design of analysis and synthesis filter banks using analysis subfilters that consist of second-order pseudo-passive digital filters, and synthesis subfilters that consist of low-order finite impulse response (FIR) digital filters are presented. The use of low-order FIR digital filters reduces the group delay of the analysis and synthesis filter banks. Five sets of examples on 1-dimensional (1D) and 2-dimensional (2D) analysis and synthesis filter banks with different types of passband that include full-band, lowpass, highpass, bandpass, and bandstop are presented
