Abstract :
A 60-GHz inter-satellite link system is being developed by the Canadian Department of National Defence (DND) for possible application in military satellite communication. The authors describe the design and development of the 60-GHz tracking feed system using precision computer aided design (CAD) tools. By using these precision CAD tools, the entire feed was designed and developed within a very tight schedule and in a very cost effective manner. By using these tools, it was possible to optimize the feed´s RF performance while maintaining practical machining dimensions and tolerances.<>
