Abstract
This paper introduced a web GIS application integrates remote sensing method and crop models for continuous time series crop monitoring and management in Beijing, China. The development of the application was based on ArcGIS Server for GIS services, Oracle for data management and html, ASP and JavaScript as programming languages. In addition, background processes programmed by ENVI/IDL are used in remote sensing images processing. The application can regularly produce thematic maps and reports includes growing status, field drought, yield prediction in every key grow period of wheat. Although the system was developed and validated for Beijing wheat monitoring and management, it can be easily customized for use in other provinces or larger areas.
