  • Abstract
    The rapid growth of the web services information technology (IT), with its great stability, accessibility and applicability, has caused to its prominence towards the advanced Web services-based Distance Teaching and Learning (WDTL) system development. In an effort to describe this prospect, this paper presents such a WDTL system by means of demonstrating the instructional situations of Engineering Statistics course. This demonstration will be done by illustrating the rationale behind an aggregated web services-based system which has been successfully perform at the Department of Industrial Engineering of Yuan Ze University in Taiwan since 2008. There is a certain necessity for developing WDTL based on learning situations because it has such a distinguished web paradigm and platform that fosters and supports educationalists to arrange and edit their knowledge based on this modern WDTL infrastructure for diffusing or personalizing knowledge to people.
