Abstract
China has entered aging society since 1999 and the aging process accelerated from the beginning of the 21st century. Aging has brought serious challenges to China, a developing country with low GDP. The rapid development in IT industry facilitated preparing and carrying out strategies to address the challenges and in the same time created opportunities to promote economic development in the aging society. It´s concluded that as long as China could realize the challenges and opportunities the aging society has on the economy, and adopt effective strategies, it´s possible to achieve the harmonious development of economy in the information society while population ages.
