Abstract
This paper proposes a work flow model of the LTE Downlink System in order to analyze the performance of the downlink communication and simulate this model to evaluate the key parameters like signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and bit error rate (BER). It focuses on the implementation of the LTE downlink mainly in the physical layer. In the transmitter, functionalities like Turbo coding and OFDM has been realized. In the receiver side, Turbo decoding, OFDM decoding functionalities has been developed. The performance parameters and spectrum utilization have been studied for different scenarios like different SNR, different modulation schemes and different number of transmitted bits.
