Abstract
The electrical power system Advanced X-ray Astrophysics Facility (AXAF), one of the major elements in NASA´s observatory series, is discussed. Viewing the heavens in the X-ray spectrum, AXAF will see objects 100 times fainter than any previous X-ray mission. AXAF is in the early stages of preliminary design, with launch planned for the mid-1990s. The electric power system requirements, topology, and sizing are discussed
