Abstract :
Summary form only given. The In-Emergency project is part of the EU Framework IV Digital Sites programme. This aims to utilise products and software applications developed as part of the main Framework IV initiative. The use and evaluation will be on existing operations centres with ITS infrastructure and experienced personnel resources already in place. In-Emergency seeks to integrate applications in road traffic incident management, pollution monitoring and telemedicine. The Framework IV programmes are In-Response, EMMA and MERMAID respectively. A brief description of each of the applications will be given during the talk. Similarly the “Digital Sites” will be introduced. These are situated in Oslo under the auspices of the Norwegian Public Roads Administration, in Genoa coordinated by Datasiel, in Thessaloniki, Greece and at the M4NTAIS CYMRU Traffic Control Centre in Newport, South Wales. The programme is currently in the design definition stage. Investigations of the system requirements and enhanced specifications are complete and some of the user concerns and needs raised during this activity will be given. The resulting functionality of the In-Emergency integration will be described
