Abstract :
In this paper, the switching losses of matrix converters (MCs) using various commutation methods are calculated with MATLAB/Simulink. The commutation methods of 2-steps current commutation, 4-steps current commutation, 2-steps voltage commutation, 4-steps voltage commutation, and 3-steps voltage current commutation are treated. This paper compares their switching losses and discusses their differences.
