Abstract :
We present a compact multi-band CPW-fed metamaterial (MTM) antenna in this presentation. The antenna is composed of a meander monopole and two open-ended stubs attached parallel to the meander for the generation of a MTM structure. The meander strip related to the resonance of 800 MHz band is transformed into a multi-band antenna with loading MTM structures by adding open-ended stubs. The measured antenna gains are -1.33, -1.57, and +1.26 dBi at 1620, 1910, and 2320 MHz, respectively. The antenna size is 25 mm × 20 mm × 0.6 mm. The multi-band antenna may be applicable to the application of PCS, WCDMA, and WLAN wireless systems.
