Abstract :
In high bandwidth optical networks, it is important to reduce to the maximum possible loss of services when link, node, or channel failure is inevitable. Therefore, survivability must be considered in designing routing algorithms in these networks. In this paper, we proposal a novel technique for survivable routing in WDM optical Networks that copes with random network topologies, allows to pro-actively generate primary and secondary paths that share a tunable number of nodes specified by the source, perform on-demand generation and resolution of requests to establish survivable routes, provide rapid failure recovery, and use a cost-efficient to reserve spare resources in backup wavelength paths.
