Abstract :
Summary form only given. A voltmeter with high resolution, very high input impedance, and excellent short-term stability for use in the comparison of DC reference standards is reported. The instrument uses a very stable, low-noise voltage reference, maintained within the instrument, to perform self-calibration regularly. Self-calibration combined with circuit design considerations has yielded a nanovoltmeter with short-term stability of better than 15 nV.<>
