Abstract
The details of a power system disturbance monitoring system designed at the research institute of Hydro Quebec are described. A prototype of this system has been operating successfully at a substation since March 1989. The system has gathered data during about 1000 disturbances. A graphical display of a few typical disturbances obtained using the system are included. The system has recorded data during three voltage drops below 160 kV and eight drops below 200 kV
