Abstract
The partial loading of the apertures of H-sectoral horns with magnetized ferrite strips is reported. A pair of thin ferrite strips are placed symmetrically on the aperture of the horn. The ferrite strips are magnetized transverse to the direction of propagation. Radiation pattern measurements were performed at 10 GHz, and beam sharpening and beam skewing are observed. These effects are due to the tensorial nature of the permeability of the magnetized ferrite. Comparison of theoretical and experimental patterns shows good agreement.<>
