Abstract
Frequency shift due to polarization anistropy of the internal mirrors of a 633-nm He-Ne laser and to the frequency pulling effect of the laser medium was measured. The beat signals between the longitudinal modes were measured with an RF-spectrum analyzer. The measured maximum frequency shift due to the frequency pulling effect was about 89 kHz, and the frequency shift due to the anistropy of the laser mirrors was found to be 2 Delta nu approximately=199 kHz ( delta approximately=2.9 mrad).<>
