Abstract
In this paper, we present a performance analysis of WDM-based networks with mesh-topologies of nodal degrees ranging from two to five. It is shown that the increase of the nodal degree from two to three leads to high nodal degree gains, while the increase of the nodal degree from four to five leads to small nodal degree gains. These results make mesh topologies with nodal degrees of three and four very attractive for WDM networks.
