Abstract
Summary form only given. MHD modeling of plasma implosion in wire arrays is the part of the integrated theoretical study of the dynamics of high energy and density plasmas, created by X-pinch, wire array and single wire explosion discharges at the University of Nevada Reno. Together with the X-ray spectroscopic measurements and modeling and with optical plasma diagnostic this study reveals the important information about the plasma parameters at all stages of the discharge evolution. Such information helps to optimize the existing experimental setup as well as to design new experiments. The current work presents the amplified MHD models, which describe the plasma production from the wire, the dynamics plasma implosion and formation of the dense radiating Z-pinch at the center of the wire array. The plasma parameters obtained from MHD simulations are verified with the experimental measurements
