Abstract
Synthetic polymer films with collagen have been used as substrates for the culture of cells. Taking into account such biomedical applications, in this paper a range of bioartificial polymer films with various collagen and polyvinylalcohol (PVA) content were produced and characterized in order to get biomimetic polymeric composites. The collagen was stabilized by crosslinking and, using different methods, the relationship between the collagen content, the structure and the properties was established.
