Abstract :
To obtain a satisfied performance of wireless mesh networks(WMN), an optimization method of backbone wireless mesh network deployment for various applications is essential. In this paper, a novel optimizing deployment algorithm based on directional antennas and delaunay triangulation to reduce the wireless signal interference for the backbone wireless mesh network is presented. Firstly, directional antennas are used to diminish wireless signal interference. Secondly, a deployment method based on delaunay triangulation is applied to reduce the deployment cost and improve the throughput of the WMN. Finally, the validity and efficiency of the presented model and method are demonstrated by network experiment. The experimental results show that our model can effectively increase transmission efficiency and throughput of wireless mesh network, and its performance is better than original one that has not been optimized.
