Abstract :
This paper proposes a new duplex method of uplink and downlink packets for wireless multihop networks. Both uplink and downlink packets are all relayed in the same direction on a one-way relay route. Two core nodes are placed on the relay route to enable the one-way relay: one of the two core nodes serves as a gateway for downlink packet relays and the other one does for uplink relays. Throughput performances of the proposed one way relay associated with the intermittent periodic transmit, a packet relay method with high relay efficiency, are compared with that of a conventional continuous transmit method with minimum path loss routing. Simulation results show higher throughput achieved by the proposed method than that of the conventional method. This paper also proposes a fair relay scheduling method which favorably works with the one-way relay associated with the intermittent periodic transmit.
