Abstract :
A novel scheme of a dual-parallel structure is proposed to generate millimeter-wave carriers; it utilizes injection-locked two sidemodes with a suppressed optical carrier with the help of Fabry-Perot laser diodes. To optimize a system performance of the proposed scheme, interference and the mode-partition noises were minimized. Signal qualities of generated millimeter-wave carriers were experimentally demonstrated. It was verified that RF peak powers of -28 dBm, -43.5 dBm, and phase noises of -96 dBm/Hz, -97.5 dBm/Hz at 1 MHz offset were measured for 56 GHz and 60 GHz band respectively.
